Yonaguni Underwater StructuresYonaguni Underwater Structures: The ancient Yonaguni Underwater Structures off Yonaguni Island appear to be relics from an ancient civilisation as discussed in Whispers from a Forgotten past at Violations. The Yonaguni monument lies in about thirty metres of water, south of the Japanese island of Yonaguni although Yonaguni is much more closer to Taiwan than Japan. The monument, 150 metres in length, looks like a multi-layered platform, with all kinds of connecting "staircases", that seems to have some ceremonial purpose; around it are many other, smaller constructions that look equally artificial. Whatever the structure is, we know that we live in a world of rising sea levels so undoubtedly there are many more relics and hidden worlds under the ocean yet to be discovered. This video about the Yonaguni Underwater Structures is narrated in Japanese however we have selected it as it provides the best view and understanding of the structures. |
