This video takes you inside the excavated tomb of Pharaoh Thutmose IV
Thutmose IVThis amateur video explores the inside of the Pharaoh Thutmose IV as detailed in Ancient Egypt Pyramids at Violations. Thutmose IV succeeded his father Amenhotep II in 1399 BC and ruled for ten years until his death in 1389 BC when he was succeeded by his son Amenhotep III (also known as Amenophis) who ruled until 1351 BC. Thutmose IV was probably best remembered for his re-discovery of the Great Sphinx in Egypt and its restoration together with the placing of a 15 ton granite slab between the paws of the Sphinx that served as a monument known as the 'Dream Stele' in memory of the legend that he would become Pharaoh if he cleared the sand away from the Sphinx (though some have suggested the entire episode was fabricated to ensure his ascendancy over his brother crown prince Amenhotep.) Thutmose IV was buried in the Valley of the Kings. The tomb of Thutmose IV was revealed by Howard Carter in January 1903 and this video takes you inside the tomb, down vast flights of steps to the area where Thutmose was laid to rest, probably having died from the debilitating illness cachexia.
