Richard Hoagland has made a cottage industry from finding Martian and other anomalies on photographs taken by NASA and publishing books and undertaking lecture tours to share his findings.

In this video he discusses the Face on Mars and other supposed anomalies on the Cydonia plateau of Mars. Hoagland has made a cottage industry out of interpreting NASA images and has generating quite a following by doing so, and this activity has clearly bankrolled him for a number of years.

However, extreme caution needs to be applied when drawing firm conclusions from limited information. When NASA revisited Cydonia in 2001 they revealed the Face on Mars for what it was, a natural hilly landform. Not so, that's just a cover-up exclaimed the conspiracy theorists. What's the truth? Well, what's more likely; a human looking face staring up into the heavens or a hilly butte or mesa?
