Hathor: Did the Egyptians use ancient electricity at Hathor? The Temple of Hathor in Dendera has painting apparently demonstrating electricity in ancient times as discussed in The Descent of Man at Violations. The drawings could, of course, simply be man's modern eye superimposing its existing knowledge onto the past, however the range and complexity of the drawing at least gives credence to the claims that ancient man had some familiarity with electricity. Other artefacts, such as the Antikythera mechanism prove a greater knowledge in the past, and the Baghdad Battery confirms that ancient man had knowledge of electricity.
