DogonDogon: The Dogon Tribe of Africa developed a religion based on the Sirius star system and were aware of Sirius B as detailed in Towards the Sky at Violations. The remarkable fact here being that Sirius B was not discovered until 1970, whereas the Dogon tribe had been aware of its existence for thousands of years. How could they have possessed this forbidden knowledge? Their legends claim they received this knowledge from the Nommos who visited Earth from a planet orbiting Sirius's companion star. The Nommos also allegedly shared knowledge about the moons of Jupiter and Saturn's rings, knowledge unknown for thousands of years until Galileo invented the telescope. Some have speculated that this knowledge was gleaned from travellers in Mali during the 1930s and the Dogon priests then interwove the information into their own legends, however this fails to account for a 400 year old Dogon artefact used in ceremonies held to celebrate the cycles of Sirius A and Sirius B. This video documentary explores the Dogon tribe history and how they may have attained this knowledge long before it became available to modern man. |
