Antikythera Mechanism: The Antikythera Mechanism artifact is an amazing example of the ancient Greek tradition of complex mechanical technology found off the tiny island of Antikythera in 1900 as discussed in Weird History at Violations. The Antikythera Mechanism Research Project reported in the science journal "Nature" recently ago that that the mechanism is an astronomical computer or orrery used to predict the positions of heavenly bodies in the sky.
